Interior drainage systems are used as a basement waterproofing solution, that is at a lower cost compared to exterior excavation and basement waterproofing. They are perimeter drains, installed in the concrete along the footing of the basement, with secured dymple board along the wall draining water into the weeping tile. The water inside the weeping tile is then drained into a sump pit or floor drain.
In case a sump pit is used to drain water from the weeping tile drain, a sump pump is used to relocate the water outside of the house, and into a storm sewer. The sump pit is sealed to prevent humidity from the sump pit from entering the basement.
Not all basement waterproofing contractors are the same. It's important you go with someone reputable and highly-experienced/trained. Not all jobs are the same, so without proper training and extensive experience, a service provider could ineffectively waterproof your home causing future leaks and possible structural damage.
